The COVID-19 Pandemic has impacted our economy hugely, including the food industry. By mid-March, many state and city officials announced executive orders to shut down all onsite dining at restaurants and bars. The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 continues to grow in the US. According to CNN news, “There are now at least 95,000 Coronavirus cases in the US, and at least 1,451 people have died” as of March 27th, 2020.
The response of hygienic masks in the food industry, particularly the attendees and exhibitors at this year’s New York International Restaurant and foodservice show in New York was reassuring. During the interview, saying:

“…with information about Coronavirus, caught my eye [on the product]. It will prevent droplets when you cough or sneeze, and we prevent that from contaminating food. Especially, and food industry will be interested in using this mask for [prevention] with anti-bacterial coating and blocking viruses…I would use it” (Environmental Health professional, NY)
“customers might feel more secure to come into restaurants” with chefs and food servers wearing extra protection” (Health official, NY)
We must show preventive measures for protection, we will get through this together!
