New guidelines and regulations for opening restaurants

New guidelines and regulations for opening restaurants

In the next few weeks, several states will slowly loosen up the lockdown for essential businesses to open up which includes some restaurants. The usual guidelines for wearing masks and social distancing of 6ft is will still be implemented even after the lockdown has been released. Some states require for their employees to wear masks and gloves for the safety of other employees and their customers. There are a full list of new regulations for restaurants to follow in order to open up again and it is important for them to follow it for the safety of their customers.

These new guidelines are during the pandemic which will possibly continue for months or years and the questions is will wearing mask be a new standard for the food industry? After the pandemic is over and the guidelines are no longer enforced, will it be necessary for kitchen workers to continue wearing masks? As we learn from all of this, wearing a mask is not just for the COVID-19, but it is about preventing germs from being spread from the person to their surrounding the the food that is being served.

According to the CDC, “Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread from person-to-person through respiratory droplets. Currently there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with food.”
